About Typology Architecture.
Typology Architecture is a Canberra based architecture studio. We focus on site-responsive, climate-informed residential, commercial and community projects across the ACT and surrounding regions. We work closely with homeowners, community groups and small organisations to create architecture grounded in place and purpose.
As a residential architect in Canberra, our work spans new homes, extensions and multi-residential projects. All our projects are guided by early feasibility work and a clear narrative direction.
Our Practice
Established in 2017 and based in Page, Canberra, Typology Architecture pairs rigorous concept thinking with detailed documentation to deliver considered outcomes—from the first conversation to construction. We bring calm structure to complex decisions, aligning idea, budget and buildability to help realise projects for our clients.
Philosophy
Our work grows from the character of its site. Every project begins by understanding climate, daylight, topography and existing fabric—then shaping spaces that feel integrated with their place. We balance pragmatic requirements with a narrative approach that “tells the story” of the site, so the architecture feels inevitable rather than imposed.

Sean Hogan is an Architect with over 20 years industry experience. His portfolio includes residential alterations and additions, new houses, small multi‑residential and community projects across the ACT and NSW.
Sean Hogan is the Principal Architect and Primary Nominee of Typology Architecture.
